二、核心术语解释

Before delving into the details, let's clarify the basic BDSM terms . This is a list of definitions compiled by the community. Understanding them is the foundation for better participation in the circles.

1. BDSM

BDSM is a term describing patterns of human sexual behavior. The abbreviation itself is meant to describe the main subgroups identified by these initial letters: bondage and discipline (B/D), dominance and submission (D/S), and sadism and masochism (S/M).

2. Dom/Sub

Dom (Dominant) refers to the person holding the dominant control in a D/S relationship. In essence, a Dom is someone who derives pleasure from gaining conscious control over another person, often a submissive. BDSM communities place a strong emphasis on Dom/Sub relationships and dynamics, but at the core, it is about consent, negotiation, and care.

Sub (Submissive) refers to the person who voluntarily relinquishes control and authority in an intimate relationship. A submissive seeks to please his/her dominant. Like a dom, a submissive also needs to give careful attention to the emotional safety and the psychological well-being of his/her partner.

3. S/M

S (Sadist/Master): “Master” is the term for the inflexible force. While the common definition of an S is given above alongside the M, we need to clarify that the two terms have one significant distinction.

M (Masochist/slave): “Slave” is the standard label for the person who takes pleasure in being humiliated and made to feel inferior. In 1998, a sociologist from Western Europe analyzed the terms and found that “masochism” and “facilitated subjugation” should be defined separately from master/slave. However, within BDSM, the two terms are still used to describe the two roles.

4. D/s

DS is the abbreviation for dominance and submission. In the BDSM community, DS refers to dynamic power relationships, but the term DS more often refers to a sexual relationship of domination and submission between two or more people. Both the dominant (Dom) and the submissive (Sub) need to understand what they're getting into.

5. PE

PE stands for Power Exchange. In BDSM circles, PE is a shorthand for power exchange, i.e., the mapping of the submissive/subordinate from his/her own needs into the dominant’s needs. This practice helps with emotional stability and better understanding between partners. In other words, Power Exchange is the act of giving up power or control in order to gain something else.

6. otoktook

otk took: It is an abbreviation for “Over The Knee.” It refers to a playstyle in which the partner is spread-legged on the floor in front of your kneeling legs, sometimes referred to as the rack or ladder position. The dynamic contracts and extends inside you as your partner moves their hips up yours.

  • What can be done? Fencing with a cape, swinging the legs, masturbation with or without eyes, or other fun stuff.
  • Why is it called so? Because your partner is over your knee, and the position allows you to have more control over the action.

7. SP

SP (Spanking) refers to the act of touching the buttocks, groin, or other parts primarily in the context of pain play, discipline, or subjugation. If you're interested in SP, you're likely to be in a serious D/s&D or BDSM scene but also maybe mixed with masochism.

三、新人入圈必备知识

As a newcomer, you need to understand the importance of consent and communication. The following are some key tips to help you navigate the BDSM circles safely and respectfully.

1. Communication

Clear, open, and honest communication with your partner is the cornerstone of any BDSM relationship. Ensure you understand limits, boundaries, and expectations. It goes without saying that SSC principle guide everything you do.

2. Safety

Personal safety is paramount. When you start to play, you must know the safe usage of various tools and equipment, including ropes, dildos, light paddles, weights, and more.

In BDSM scenes, safety word plays a very important role. Before engaging in any activity, you should decide on a safe word with your partner. It is typically an unusual word or phrase that, when used, signals an immediate stop.

3. Education and Research

Dedicate time to educate yourself. BDSM resources – books, websites, online communities, workshops – can provide valuable insight into what you're interested in.

4. Finding a Community

Create connections with like-minded people. Attend local munches or look for online communities. Often, the very thing you are seeking will be in the form of a partner or group that you can join.

四、掌握心理咨询

As a member of the BDSM community, you are expected to maintain a healthy mindset and emotional state. Here are some points to bear in mind:

1. Self-reflection

Before participating in any BDSM activity, think carefully about your reasons for doing so. Are you ready for the responsibilities that come with such relationships and activities?

2. Respecting Boundaries

Everyone has their limits. Be clear about what activities you are comfortable with, and never pressure your partner into something that makes them uncomfortable. Consensual interactions are at the core of the BDSM community.

3. Professional Support

If you find that BDSM exploration is interfering with your everyday life, relationships, or causing discomfort, it is advisable to seek the help of a professional therapist or counselor.
